The Estonian NGO Programme has opened a call for small scale capacity building projects by Estonian civil society. The deadline for the receipt of applications is 10 December 2012.

Protecting cultural heritage in Estonia

The Estonian NGO programme is designed to provide flexible and accessible funding to local NGOs with the aim of fostering an enabling environment for civil society, strengthening its capacities, and enhancing its contribution to social justice, democracy and sustainable development.

Open call for small-scale capacity building projects

On 10 October, the NGO programme in Estonia launched its second open call, making 140,000 euros available for capacity building projects by Estonian civil society

Under the current open call, grants in the range of €5000 to €7500 will be awarded to support projects that:

  • bring new knowledge, skills and people to civil society;
  • strengthen good governance;
  • raise financial capacity or professional skills of NGOs; or
  • foster mutual learning and dissemination.

“Small-scale capacity building grants of the NGO Fund are targeted to face the challenges of civil society in Estonia. It is important that NGOs take time to think about solutions how to act more effectively and have a greater impact in society. The NGO Fund encourages growth and openness to new ideas, involving more people and building cooperation,“ said Maris Jõgeva of the Open Estonia Foundation who manages the programme in Estonia.,
