The overarching objective of the fund is to contribute to a sustainable and balanced development of the regions of Estonia. Eligible applicants include local government units and associations, county governments and non-profit organisations and foundations. The fund is open for collaboration projects between municpalities in Estonia and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
Grants will be awarded to projects aiming to:
•u0009Strengthen the administrative capacity of Estonian local governments, local government associations and county governments, mainly for developing public services and creating innovative/better development solutions for regions;
•u0009Promote cooperation between local governments, county governments, local government associations and non-profit associations on the local and regional level;
•u0009Improve the economic environment and sustainability of regions.

The fund's first call for project proposals in spring 2008 generated 52 applications, of which 22 were awarded grants. Read more
