The Czech Research Support Fund launched its second open call on 6 October 2008. A total €150,000 in grants will be channeled to researchers in the Czech Republic and the EEA EFTA states Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway to facilitate academic cooperation between the countries.
The call for proposals is earmarked bilateral expert exchanges. Researchers whose nationality, place of residence or registered office is in the Czech Republic, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway can now apply for grant support to finance study visits, attendance at conferences and events. Czech researchers can take part in activities organised in the EEA EFTA states, whereas EEA EFTA nationals can participate in events in the Czech Republic.
Eligible applicants must be engaged in research within one of the Research Support Fund's priority sectors:

•u0009Protection of the environment
•u0009Human resource development
•u0009Healthcare
•u0009Promotion of sustainable development
•u0009Children‘s living conditions
Grants ranging from €5,000 to €15,000 will be awarded to projects lasting up to four months, and the fund intermediary National Training Fund is accepting applications until 8 December 2008.
The €4.8 million Czech Research Support Fund was set up to support and strengthen cooperation between academic communities in the Czech Republic and Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway.
