Czech Republic announces second open call for proposals

On 24 July 2006, the Czech Republic launched an open call making 27.51 million euros available for individual project applications under the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism established by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The deadline for submission of applications is 26 October 2006.

The call, allocated to applications for individual projects, covers priority sectors supported by both the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism. This includes the priority sectors for conservation of the European cultural heritage, protection of the environment, human resource development, health and childcare, promotion of sustainable development, and implementation of Schengen acquis and strengthening the judiciary, as well as applications for academic research within any of the aforementioned priority areas.

In total, the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism will make available a gross amount of 110.91 million euros to projects in the Czech Republic over the 2004-2009 period.
