On 1 March, the Financial Mechanism Office (FMO) is moving in together with the EFTA Secretariat (EFTA) and the EFTA Surveillance Authority (ESA) to our new office - the EFTA House - in the heart of the Brussels European district.
The EFTA House will bring FMO, EFTA and ESA’s 230 employees closer together. A new building will allow for more cooperation, improved workflows and a better work environment - all to the benefit of the EEA EFTA States and their citizens.
"The EFTA House marks the beginning of a new chapter for our organisation and our employees, bringing together the Financial Mechanism Office, the EFTA Secretariat and the EFTA Surveillance Authority. This is an important moment in the history of our organisations and one that we should all be celebrating," says Henning Stirø, Director of the Financial Mechanism Office.
Moving in together physically will of course depend on the evolution of the current Covid-19 pandemic. While our official address will change, FMO's staff will continue to work from home until the Belgian rules allow for a safe return to the office.
The Financial Mechanism Office is the secretariat of the EEA and Norway Grants - find out more about our funding opportunities here.
