The Government Office of the Slovak Republic has announced the launch of the Bilateral Funds at programme level.
The aim of the Funds is to create a flexible tool for easy funding and supporting the development of cooperation among the Slovak Republic, Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein in the programme areas covered through the programmes operated by the Government Office of the Slovak Republic.
What is supported?
The Bilateral Fund generally supports single activities with clearly specified purpose and objective. These include study tours, organisation of events, participation in events, etc.
The submitted application must relate to one of the programme areas of the programmes operated by the Government Office of the Slovak Republic. The programme areas are the following:
- PA7 – Adaptation to Climate Change
- PA16 & PA17 – Conservation and Revitalisation of Cultural and Natural Heritage & Promotion of Diversity in Culture and Arts within European Cultural Heritage
- PA21 – Green Industry Innovation
- PA28 – Cross-border Cooperation
- PA29 – Domestic and gender-based violence
How much is funded?
The allocations for each programme area are as listed below:
- PA7 – Adaptation to Climate Change: € 40 000
- PA16 & PA17 – Conservation and Revitalisation of Cultural and Natural Heritage & Promotion of Diversity in Culture and Arts within European Cultural Heritage: € 120 000
- PA21 – Green Industry Innovation: € 66 000
- PA28 – Cross-border Cooperation: € 60 000
- PA29 – Domestic and gender-based violence: € 30 000
Each activity (one grant application) can be awarded a grant of minimum € 1 000 and a maximum of € 10 000.
Co-financing of the activities by the applicant is not required.
Who can apply for funding?
Eligible applicants are entities from the Slovak republic, entities from the Donor countries (Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway) and international organisations (following point b) of Article 3.6.1 of the Regulation on the implementation of the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Regulation on the implementation of the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
Priority is given to entities and their Slovak and donor partners who are implementing or have already implemented some of the projects supported under the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism.
One of the conditions of eligibility of the applicant is that the applicant has at least one partner chosen according to the following key:
a) In case of programme areas PA7, PA16 and PA17 it is necessary to have at least one partner from Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway, or an international organisation
b) In case of programme areas PA21, PA26 and PA29 it is necessary to have at least one partner from Norway or international organisation.
c) If the applicant is a subject from the donor states or an international organisation, it must have at least one partner from Slovakia.
The provisions of points a), b) and c) shall not apply if the activities’ aim is participation at an event only.
Every partner must have relevant experiences in the respective area.
When is the application deadline?
Grant applications can be submitted up to 30 November 2016. Although applications can be submitted up to the deadline, they will be reviewed on a 'a first come - first served' approach. Consequently, the earlier applications are submitted, the higher the chances of receiving support.
