The more than €10 million in funding to individual projects is earmarked for small and medium size enterprises in Slovakia. Grants over €250,000 will be awarded to support projects within the priority sectors environment, sustainable development, cultural heritage, human resources, health and childcare, research, and regional policy and cross-border activities. Project proposals can be submitted to the Slovak Focal Point until 21 January 2008.

The EEA Grants in Slovakia
A total €70.3 million has been allocated to Slovakia under the EEA Grants, and a broad spectrum of projects submitted in the €18.6 million first open call for the public sector from spring 2006 has already been approved.
A continuously updated list of all supported activities in Slovakia is available in the EEA Grants project database. Among the 40 approved projects are a participatory development project from the Kysuce region and the establishment of a knowledge park based on a Norwegian model in Prešov region.
The €350,000 call for seed money closed on 17 September, and in end-November grants will be awarded to applicants aiming to submit individual project applications to the €32.5 million call for public and third sector in Slovakia during spring 2008.
