A total €2.6 million is up for grabs, and Polish educational institutions, researchers and doctoral students interested in applying can submit their applications for mobility grants or project support to fund manager Foundation for the development of the Education System until 30 November 2008. Further details on eligible applicants and activities are available in the open call text

Following the fund's highly popular first call this spring, the Polish Scholarship and Training Fund gave out more than 630 scholarships. Commenting on the great interest for the fund, coordinator Katarzyna Aleksandrowicz said: "We will see a threefold increase in student exchanges this year". In addition to mobility grants, funding is made available to strengthen direct cooperation between educational institutions from Poland and the three EEA EFTA countries through partnership projects.
The launch of the fund's second open call for proposals on 1 October coincides with a four-day spotlight on bilateral cooperation opportunities in Gdansk, Poland. The partner seminar in Gdansk on 1-4 October will bring together educational institutions from Iceland, Norway and Poland to explore possibilities for developing bilateral project proposals. Around 45 representatives of educational institutions in the three countries will use the remainder of this week to discuss new cooperation projects or ways to strengthen already existing cooperation.

Further details on the scholarship fund and the partner seminar are available on fund manager Foundation for the development of the Education System's website.
