Reducing the emissions of greenhouse gases in Poland

Enterprises in Poland who want to reduce their carbon foot print can now apply for funding from the Norway Grants.

In order to meet the goals of reduced greenhouse gas emissions, an increasing share of the energy supply must come from renewable energy sources. To that end, Norway has set aside more than €12 million for projects on renewable energy in Poland.

Who can apply for funding?

The entities eligible for funding are:

  • Small, medium-sized and large enterprises.
  • This excludes:enterprises covered by Council Regulation (EC) No 1198/2006 of 27 July 2006 on the European Fisheries Fund and enterprises covered by Council Regulation (EC) No 1698/2005 of 20 September 2005 on support for rural development by the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development (EAFRD).

What activities are supported?

The following activities are among the supported:

  • Modernisation or replacement of existing heating sources, along with modernisation of the combustion process, along with modernisation of the combustion process or the use of a different energy medium (e.g. combustion of gas, oil or biomass by elimination of coal combustion).

Partnerships with institutions from Norway are encouraged.The Norwegian Water Resources and Energy Directorate can be contacted for more information about possible partners.

When is the application deadline?

All applications must be submitted by April 7 2014 3 pm (UTC+1)
