Latvia announces 17 million open call for proposals

Latvia announced an open call for proposals on 5 December 2006 making €17 million available for individual project applications under the financial mechanisms, established by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. The deadline for submission of applications is 5 March 2007.

The call for proposals is earmarked to applications for individual projects and covers priority sectors supported by both the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism, including protection of the environment, promotion of sustainable development, conservation of European cultural heritage, human resource development, health and childcare, judiciary and regional policy.

The €17 million call for proposals is open to applications from all Latvian legal entities, ranging from public and private sector bodies to non-governmental organisations (NGOs). Projects may also be implemented together with partners from the donor countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, as well as the other countries within the European Economic Area.
