The EEA and Norway Grants support Romania’s endeavours to shift towards a greener economy. Through the Green industry programme for Romania, financial support is provided to develop and implement green industries. Small and medium-sized Romanian enterprises are the main target groups, but also NGOs may apply under the small grant scheme.
Having received 85 calls for proposals, Innovation Norway has a wide array of projects to choose from. Their selection is expected to be made in December 2013.

The Green industry innovation programme is aimed at:
- business opportunities of the greening of the European economy;
- reducing waste and pollution;
- environmentally friendly technologies, and;
- increasing job creation and entrepreneurship
