Improving energy efficiency in Hungarian schools

In Hungary, €8.7 million is now available for improving energy efficiency in public schools. There is a wide opportunity to involve donor partners. NEW DEADLINE 6 January 2014.

School in Hungary

Improving energy efficiency is a central goal for the EU. Under the EEA Grants, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway support energy efficiency in Hungary.  The programme will provide funding for energy efficiency measures for at least nine schools, where each project also supports increased awareness of and education in climate change and energy efficiency related topics.

Who can apply for funding?
The project promoter has to be a Hungarian public school (operator, maintainer, owner, or independently managed public school).

Partnership opportunities
There is a wide opportunity to involve project partners from the donor countries Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway in the projects.

Later in 2013, two further calls for proposals will be launched. The main goal of these calls is to improve bilateral relations between Hungary and the donor states by supporting study visits and adapting good practices from the donor countries to Hungary. More information on that can be found here.

When is the application deadline?
The call deadline has been extended to 6 January 2014. Read the announcement.
