Hungary announces 102 million open call for individual projects and funds

On 25 January 2006, Hungary announced its €102 million open call for individual projects and block grants/fund intermediaries under the EEA Financial Mechanism and the Norwegian Financial Mechanism established by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. This makes it the first call of 2006 and the second largest call of the financial mechanisms to date.

Hungary is the second largest recipient of support from the financial mechanisms with a total 129 million euros (net amount) being made available to the country over a five-year period until 2009.

The call opens for individual project applications in all the priority sectors of the EEA and Norwegian Financial Mechanisms, ranging from health and childcare, protection of the environment, to regional development and cross-border co-operation. The call for individual project applications operates on the basis of continuous submissions with five rounds of submissions until 31 March 2008. The deadline for the first round of applications is 31 March 2006.

The call also includes applications for block grants/intermediaries with two rounds, the first 31 March 2006 and the second 30 September 2006.
