The Norway Grants green industry innovation programme in Latvia will contribute increase green business opportunities in Latvia. The programme is targeted to link science and private sector initiatives, improving the seed and start-up financing climate to enable further venture capital financing of knowledge and technology intensive business ideas.
Linking Latvian and Norwegian enterprises
Latvian enterprises can now apply for project support for the implementation, development and/or improvement of innovative environmental technologies, products or processes. Partnerships with Norwegian entities are encouraged and additional points will be awarded in the project appraisal process.
Innovation Norway is involved in the programme as donor programme partner and assists in facilitating networking and partnerships with Norwegian enterprises.

Renewable energy and green products
The following activities can be supported:
- Production of renewable energy;
- Production of green (energy efficient) products and materials for buildings;
- Clean transportation;
- Water management;
- Waste management;
- Eco design;
- Any other improvements in products, technologies or processes in other fields, contributing to energy efficiency, lower emissions or lesser consumption of resources.
The deadline for application is 20 March 2014.
