Funding available for student mobility in Slovenia

The Slovenian scholarship, research and expert exchange fund has announced an open call for proposals for mobility projects, making available some €1.2 million euros in funding.

The scholarship, research and expert exchange fund supports international cooperation, transnational partnerships and implementation of mobility projects. The fund aims to further the internationalisation of higher education and research in Slovenia, and to increase mobility and institutional cooperation between actors in Slovenia and the EEA EFTA states.

Eligible activities for support include the exchange of experts, study visits and individual mobility. The latter group comprises student mobility for studies and training, staff mobility for teaching, training and research of varying length, as well as short preparatory visits. 70% of the funding will be awarded to individual mobility projects, with the remaining share being split equally between the other two groups.

For individual mobility, co-financing is not required. For the two other forms of support, the fund may cover up to 90% of eligible project costs.

Applications may be submitted to the fund manager, Centre of the Republic of Slovenia for Mobility and European Educational and Training Programmes (CMEPIUS), until 31 August 2009. The application form and further information about the fund are available at www.cmepius.si/razpisi/nfm.aspx. The full open call text can be found here.
