Between September 2011 and April this year, the Czech Ministry of finance and the Norwegian Embassy in Prague organised a geocaching competition. The game was played throughout the country by people equipped with GPS devices.
GPS treasure hunt
Geocaching is a sport with increasing popularity around the world. The outdoor treasure hunting game requires players to locate hidden containers, called geocaches, using GPS-enabled mobile devices. In the competition taking place this winter and spring, those participating located and travelled to EEA and Norway Grants projects in different parts of the Czech Republic by using GPS coordinates. In each of the six locations, participants searched for hidden geocaches containing a letter. After finding all six letters, the participants had to shuffle the letters to create a word.
