Czech NGO Fund supports youth in Olomouc

The NGO Podané ruce has received close to €50,000 under the Czech NGO fund to fund their current work with disadvantaged youth in Olomouc in eastern Czech Republic.

Podané ruce (PR) runs a youth club and a social advisory centre in the city centre of Olomouc. The €49,500 support from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway is aimed at supporting the Czech NGO's initiative for the city's youth.

The youth club is popular among young people in Olomouc, and around 150 youth use the club regularly with its PCs and game rooms. In addition to running the youth club, the NGO offers a vast range of services from organised excursions, workshops, IT-training courses to music school, tutoring, intercultural role plays, dialogue groups and other group activities.

PR's target group includes youth from the Roma minority. In addition to the center's overall goals of contributing to drug prevention and antiracism, PR aims to bring together the majority and minority populations in the city.
