The draft ‘Blue Book’ - which is launched for consultation today - describes the agreed priority sectors and programme areas eligible for funding under the EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021. Its content reflects the joint experience built up between donor and beneficiary countries in the previous funding period 2009-2014.
A green, competitive and inclusive Europe
The priorities in the draft ‘Blue Book’ build on the successes from the previous funding period, but they also take into account the major challenges Europe is currently facing. The EEA and Norway Grants 2014-2021 therefore aim to increase focus on priorities needed to boost smart and sustainable growth, such as innovation, research, environment, energy, climate change and low carbon economy. Through the Grants, the donors also contribute to stimulate social inclusion through attention for poverty reduction, youth employment, culture, civil society, good governance, justice and home affairs and fundamental rights.
Six weeks’ public consultation
Prior to its finalisation all stakeholders are invited to provide input and comments on the content of the draft ‘Blue Book’ in a broad and open consultation process. Contributions may be submitted online through a survey that is open until 8 July 2016.
