Call for proposals: Urban development in Poland

Strengthened cooperation of local government entities, civil society and business can stimulate social and economic development. This open call is for projects that will contribute to the development of mechanisms of effective cooperation.

CVE-20120523-Poland-490

Under the EEA and Norway Grants 2009-2014, the programme to support local and regional initiatives to reduce national inequalities and to promote social inclusion in Poland has been allocated over €9.5 million by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway. Some €7.4 million of the programme budget is earmarked for this open call.

Thematically the activities carried out under the projects should address issues such as combating social exclusion, problems of demographic changes and strengthening of public participation in local decision making.

The projects selected under this open call are expected to result in partnerships between self-government units and between local authorities and representatives of the non-governmental organisation (NGO) sector, social partners and business representatives. These partnerships will develop integrated strategies and operational plans for development of urban areas and they will also establish inter-sectoral collaboration tools such as IT tools that can facilitate the conduct of public consultations.

The deadline for applications is 19 April 2013. More information about the open call is available here.
