2011 marked a watershed between the completion of the previous funding period (04-09) and roll-out of the current funding period (09-14).
It was a peak year for disbursement of funds and project completion. It also saw the conclusion of country-specific agreements with most of the beneficiary states on their funding priorities for the period up to 2014.
As well as the facts and figures, the report highlights some of the main activities and events organised during the year, and presents a summary of the key findings from external evaluations and reviews of the grant schemes carried out in 2011.
The report also provides an overview of new guidelines endorsed in 2011. These aim to provide practical guidance for the development and implementation of programmes, as well as for evaluation and communication activities.
