EEA and Norway Grants media library - terms and conditions of use

General

The EEA and Norway Grants media library is a media platform operated by the Financial Mechanism Office (FMO) with the purpose of ensuring visibility of the EEA and Norway Grants. The media library is an online database for photos and videos (digital material) of activities funded by the EEA and Norway Grants. The digital materials are made available free of charge to encourage its further use subject to the terms and conditions outlined below.  

Objectives

The overall objectives of the EEA and Norway Grants are to contribute to the reduction of economic and social disparities in the EEA and to strengthen bilateral relations between the Donor States and the Beneficiary States. Any digital material in the media library made available to the public to document and support the work of the EEA and Norway Grants with the intention to increase the public’s knowledge and understanding of the EEA and Norway Grants.

Conditions of use

Any use and reproduction of the digital material is permitted for non-commercial purposes only, i.e., without the right to sell any digital material or use it in conjunction with the promotion or advertisement of any commercial organisation or product.

The digital materials shall be used in an appropriate context and in accordance with the objectives of the EEA and Norway Grants.

The digital materials must not be used for discriminatory or commercial purposes, or to promote political parties. The use of the materials must not disregard or compromise the rights and dignity of the persons depicted.

There should be no material changes to the digital material. Any text accompanying the digital material should relate to the EEA and Norway Grants or the specific context in which the material was taken. The text should not or attribute any opinion to the persons depicted

The right to use the materials is a revocable right and may be revoked by the FMO at any time. Such revocation of the right to use the material has immediate effect and is without prejudice to any other recourse.

When this information is available, the author and copyright holder shall be given credit when their materials are used by indicating the author, copyright owner, and, where possible, the source.

Disclaimer

The digital materials do not reflect the views of FMO, and they do not purport to be representative of the countries, regions and themes they illustrate. The use of the materials does not imply endorsement by the FMO, the Donor States, the Beneficiary States, or any other stakeholder of the EEA and Norway Grants.

The FMO is not liable for any law infringements by third parties in the context of the operation and use of the media library.

By creating an account as a user of the EEA and Norway Grants media library you agree to the terms and conditions of use and acknowledge that the right to use the materials of the media library can be revoked at any time.

Uploading

If you would like to upload, send us an email to info-fmo@efta.int. The uploading functionality is dedicated to our stakeholders working with the EEA & Norway Grants. In specific cases, other parties may be permitted to upload assets if those assets are related to the EEA & Norway Grants.

To upload materials to the EEA and Norway Grants media library you confirm that:

  • you have the rights to all of the materials you upload;
  • all relevant data protection requirements have been observed when collecting the materials;
  • the subjects of the materials consent to having the materials displayed publicly both online and in print, or if a subject is under 18 years old that the parents or legal guardians' consent;
  • all information about the materials, including the author and copyright holder of the materials, is correct;
  • you give permission to the FMO to use the materials in accordance with the terms and conditions of use, and display the materials in the media library;
  • you give permission to users of the media library to use the materials in line with the terms and conditions of use of the media library.
