The first edition of the Digital Rights Forum centers around the right to data protection with a focus on the new General Data Protection Regulation adopted on 14 April 2016. The Regulation is said to change the way businesses use data across the EU, while simultaneously returning the power back to individuals, to decide over how and where their data is used. The companies and state institutions have two years to ensure compliance with the Regulation, which will come into effect in spring 2018. The aim of the Forum is to facilitate a dialogue between key stakeholders – business, users and the Data Protection Authorities – with a purpose of preparing for the implementation of the GDPR.The speakers include EC Representation in Lithuania, EC DG Justice, several Baltic Ministries of Justice and the bilateral partner, Electronic Frontiers Norway.Download the draft agendaRead more about the Funds for Non-governmental Organisations programme to Lithuania
