Closing event: NGO programme in Portugal

With the aim to strengthen civil society in Portugal, the programme has supported 113 projects on which about 170 NGOs and many other organisations participated, both from Portugal and from the Donor States of the European Economic Area (Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein). Between 2013 and 2016, seven million euros have been disbursed, through grants which directly benefited the lives of over 80,000 people from all over the country.The book “No matter how dark the night is ... tomorrow will be another day” will also be presented at the event. The authors, journalist Inês Rapazote and photographer José Carlos Carvalho, will share their views and provide a deep insight into how the programme has impacted people's lives. The audience will also receive a copy of the book.
