Description
The project is focused on the physical and mental development of children and youth in the village of Kružlová and in partner municipalities. Due to the situation of Roma children in Slovakia, the municipality of Kružlová is trying to support their employment in society and improve their position. By creating a multifunctional center for the development of physical and mental abilities of children and youth, the goal of support will be fulfilled. The Action Plan of the Svidník District and also the Program of Economic and Social Development of the Kružlová Municipality state the need to implement measures to support the inclusion of the Roma population, support education and employment in the municipality as well as in the whole district.
Based on these facts, the plan is to implement following activities:
1.Construction of sport facilities for the development of physical and mental abilities of children and youth in the village of Kružlová
2. Training courses to support employment
3. A set of lectures associated with a historical interpretation of hate speech, radicalization and non-discrimination
4. Artistic and cultural education to support the return to Roma roots
5. Dissemination and promotion
Summary of project results
The implemented project is focused on the physical and mental development of children and youth in the village of Kružlová and in partner villages. Considering the situation of Roma children in Slovakia, the village of Kružlová tries to support their employment in society and improve their status. By creating a multifunctional center for the development of physical and mental abilities of children and youth, the goal of the support has been fulfilled.
The Svidník District Action Plan and the Kružlová Municipality Economic and Social Development Program state the need to implement measures to support the inclusion of the Roma population, support education and employment in the municipality as well as in the entire district, and given the current situation not only in Slovakia but also in the world, it is also very significant the need for non-discrimination and the prevention of social exclusion.
Based on the above facts, we implemented activities within the project:
1. Construction of sports facilities for the development of physical and mental abilities of children and youth in the village of Kružlová
2. Educational courses to support employment
3. A set of lectures connected with the historical interpretation of hate speech, radicalization and non-discrimination
4. Artistic and cultural education to support the return to Roma roots
5. Dissemination and promotion
Sports and games have strengthened the inclusion of Roma, fostered cooperation between the Roma and non-Roma populations, and through games, children have come together and developed their physical and mental abilities.
In the second activity, during the school year at ZŠ Kružlová, courses were implemented to support employment and preparation for employment. As a result, children''s ability to estimate their abilities and their ability to look for work are improved.
Lectures will be held as part of the third activity. These lectures were aimed at spreading the idea of non-discrimination, equality and inclusion. The output is children''s works on the topic of a world without discrimination and bullying.
The fourth activity is aimed at supporting education and these activities were implemented by the project partners of the municipality of Rovné and the municipality of Havranec. Educational activities took place in the form of art education, where the element of returning to Roma roots and the involvement of children and youth from the Roma and non-Roma population was emphasized.
The last activity was dissemination and promotion. The aim of this activity is to raise awareness of the project, the activities implemented and the outputs that the project brought. 3 conferences were held within the project.
The target groups of this project are children and youth in and around the village of Kružlová. Within this group, the project focuses on the social inclusion of excluded groups - Roma children and children from socially disadvantaged backgrounds or children at risk of poverty.
Results of the project: Building a multifunctional center for children and youth, where they can realize and develop in all aspects - in the field of health, education, employment and in a non-discriminatory environment.
Summary of bilateral results
The project partner provided us with help mainly in terms of his expertise and also by sharing good practice and their knowledge. He gave us a new perspective on many tasks.The main result of bilateral cooperation is a new international approach to solving problems, challenges and other issues. The partner was mainly involved in the dissemination and promotion of the project, and brought a new perspective and experience from Norwegian society to the implemented activities.We are still in contact with our Norwegian partner and are planning a work trip to Norway to strengthen cooperation and expand the network of contacts for other projects and initiatives.
