Description
The project focuses on the aims related to the education through ICT using innovative methods and modern didactic approaches. The specific objectives of the project include promoting synergies between research and innovation activities in the field of "green innovation" and promoting modern technologies as drivers for improving education and youth policy. The project is focused on institutional cooperation between the Secondary Vocational School of Gastronomy and Services and enterprises in Slovakia and Norway to increase the quality and importance of education and vocational training in Slovakia. The main concept of the project is the development of training and educational organisations in order to diversify capacity in the digital field. The project aims to ensure the implementation of activities that mediate the integration of pupils without distinction and create conditions for inclusive education. The modernization of individual classrooms will create a suitable learning environment for all students and their full participation in education without distinction. The individual classrooms will be equipped with modern technologies and devices to provide inclusive education and development of disadvantaged groups in multiple knowledge aspects:
- Implementation of equal treatment (non-discrimination), as every student of the school of the different field will have access to practical training in the modernized classrooms;
- full participation of pupils with specific needs in education;
- support and motivation of pupils with specific needs to enter the labour market, obtaining the required profile of a graduate of the selected field of study and apprenticeship;
Within the implementation of the submitted project, the applicant will ensure the economy, efficiency and effectiveness of the use of the proposed expenditures. The project expenditures will be reasonable - will correspond to the usual prices at the place and time and meet the needs of the project.
Summary of project results
The only hitch in the implementation was the delay of the "Procurement of the innovative materials" milestone. When implementing the next project, the recipient therefore recommends that when meeting milestones, which include public procurement, to count on a longer duration of such a milestone.
A big challenge was the creation of a new teaching subject "Informatics in process control".
The implementation of the project mainly depended on the procurement of innovative technologies and their inclusion in teaching.
Individual activities and milestones of the project were directly dependent on each other. Despite the delay that occurred during the procurement of equipment, the recipient managed to successfully fulfill all activities and milestones and achieve the main and secondary goals of the project.
After receiving the equipment, selected pedagogues were trained in its use, whose tasks were then to pass on the acquired knowledge to the pupils of the high school in the teaching process.
At the same time, the selected teachers created digital teaching texts, which the students have access to via the digital platform and actively work with them in class via tablets.
The curriculum of the subject includes all the expected modules and at the end of the 2023/24 school year it will be the first year that the subject is taught at the school.
Summary of bilateral results
During the entire project implementation period, the recipient communicated with the Norwegian partner, thanks to which he was better able to face the challenges arising from the implementation. This cooperation resulted in the strengthening of bilateral relations, which was also confirmed by the implementation of another joint project, which focused on waste reduction in gastronomic establishments.Students, teachers, small and medium-sized enterprises and stakeholders who were an active part of the project evaluate the implemented changes very positively. The most significant is the improvement of ICT literacy among the school''s pupils and teachers and a significant increase in study attractiveness.
