Description

The expected outcome of the project is to increase the understanding of gender equality. The outputs of the project are education and awareness raising activities in the field of gender equality. The project consists of three activities: awareness-raising campaign promoting gender equality (1), audiovisual lectures for schools (20 schools, at least 1500 students), and mandatory publicity.

Summary of project results

The project aimed to address gender-based violence and promote gender equality by challenging deeply rooted stereotypes about men and women in both public and private life. One of the primary challenges it addressed was the impact of gender-based violence facilitated through digital technologies, a significant and emerging threat for young women and girls. Additionally, the project sought to raise awareness among young people and the general population regarding gender equality and the importance of respecting women''s dignity and rights.

The project implemented several activities aimed at increasing awareness and reducing gender-based stereotypes:

  • UNISEX Campaign: The campaign aimed to promote positive changes in perceptions of gender equality. Conducted through audiovisual media, the campaign included social media outreach (Instagram, YouTube, and the project’s website) and achieved nearly 1,200,000 impressions on Instagram and 80,000 views on YouTube. The campaign became one of the most visible gender sensitivity campaigns targeting young people.
  • Educational Presentations: Audiovisual presentations were conducted in all Slovak regions at 27 schools, with a total of 2,046 students attending. These presentations highlighted harmful stereotypes through short clips from films, series, and advertisements.

The project achieved impactful outcomes for various groups:

  • Youth: The campaign and educational sessions reached thousands of young people, increasing awareness and encouraging them to reject stereotypes and support gender equality. This was particularly effective among Generation Z, as the campaign leveraged digital and social media platforms.
  • General Public: By promoting a positive shift in public perceptions of gender roles, the project contributed to a more inclusive community. Surveys indicated significant improvements in attitudes toward gender equality, demonstrating the project’s broad social impact.
