Description

The Project focuses on environmental education, which is not only a cross-cutting theme of each school curriculum, but also an important factor for sustainable development. The Project combines soft and hard measures and the following activities are included in the Project:

  • Innovative curricula for education in mitigation and adaptation to climate change (adding new content to existing objects, innovations in methodology, organizational forms),
  • Creation of worksheets and interactive games in environmental education (on topics: use of alternative energy sources, sorting and recycling of waste, ecological farming based on regional resources),
  • Lectures by external environmental experts, lectures and workshops by participating pupils,
  • Contests (literary, graphic, creativity, photographic),
  • Workshops for the public,
  • Increasing the percentage of greenery,
  • Building ecopedagogical areas/training areas using natural and technical elements,
  • Energy saving,
  • Reducing waste generation and recovery,
  • Water retention measures,
  • Promoting biodiversity,
  • Building elements of blue infrastructure,
  • Awareness raising activities: lectures and workshops for partners, lectures for students of other primary schools, lectures for pupils of other secondary schools, determination of feedback, activities to promote the Project results.

There are three Slovak Project Partners involved: the City of Hriňová, the Primary School in the City of Detva and Primary School in the Municipality of Kriváň. Partners´contribution is as follows: to innovate education content, to provide contacts to professional staff, to participate in the implementation of technical measures, to participate in conferences and events for the public.
