Description

Slovensko.Digital is a civic association that has been promoting quality state electronic services since 2016. This organization does everything so that everyone can get involved and contribute to change for the better future.  What it has managed so far: to stop nonsensical projects worth a total of EUR 300 million, mobilize the largest community of IT experts on the Slovakia.Digital platform, help more than 600 entrepreneurs with the GovBox service, to bring together companies and individuals who promote ethical business in IT, prepare the Návody.Digital portal, which helps to orientate oneself in the bureaucracy, track hundreds of state projects on the platform, allow tens of thousands of citizens to vote through Elections.Digital, get 2,200 signatures under a mass reminder of the informatization strategy and much more.

The aim of the project Together We Are Slovakia.Digital is to remove barriers that prevent participation and enable the general public to engage in eGovernment issues. We bring important topics that are easy to process so that people can easily and quickly find their way around them and then choose which activities to take part in. The pandemic has increased interest in all electronic services, pointed out shortcomings, and we want to make the most of this situation and involve people in improving the state''s electronic services. The main activities of the project are: Informing about eGovernment events and motivating to participate, Creating a space to discuss eGovernment events and policies and collecting suggestions for improvement, Involving people in community activities, policy making and developing eGovernment-related solutions, Building partnerships on promoting the public interest in the field of eGovernment, controlling the public interest and obtaining information through legal acts.

Summary of project results

The project focused on removing barriers that prevent participation and enabling the general public to engage in eGovernment topics. Permanent involvement of citizens in the decision-making process and making eGovernment an effective tool for increasing the transparency and openness of government institutions was a priority for the project implementers. They regularly invited people who care about better electronic services of the state to participate in activities and contribute to the improvement of portals such as Navody.Digital Lepsie RedFlags services and ad-hoc activities. During the duration of the project, the project implementers organized 22 community meetings, both for expert volunteers, as well as the lay public and experts. They involved each person in their activities according to their abilities and possibilities. The collection of suggestions for improving the state''s electronic services and solving reported errors in eGovernment continued through the large community portal LepšieSlužby. The project implementers collected 62 suggestions. A substantial part of the project''s activities was devoted to "helping" the authorities so that their activities turned out well. The knowledge and experience of the project implementers often exceeds that of the employees of offices and institutions, as they are often there for a very short time. As part of the project, close cooperation was established with the Ministry of Investments, Regional Development and Informatization, which started the topic of life situations, they proposed many solutions based on the model of the website (created by the project implementers) Instructions.Digital.

This type of project is very special and in demand, because it allows us to work with experts in the IT community, to create pressure on public institutions and the state to publish information and not waste public resources.
