Summary of project results
The project tackles the shortcomings found concerning the ability of the disadvantaged groups to access community services given the circumstances in which the existing services are characterized by inadequate capacity relative to the needs, fragmentation and a marked lack of coordination.
The initiative offered a model of intervention that was tailored to the needs of the beneficiaries (children, young people, adults, and the elderly) in an effort to address poverty and the risk of social exclusion.
As part of the initiative, a building was constructed in Baia municipality on the land provided by the local authorities and a multifunctional community centre was established. The centre provided services for all target groups in the field of social assistance, education, health, employment, and housing. As a result, 531 disadvantaged persons benefited from services:
- 273 children between the ages of 3 and 14 benefited from educational and recreational activities, material support and hot meals,
