Description

The project consists in the elaboration of technical documentation for rehabilitation of  kindergarten in with extended program in Zagar locality, Mures commune
Project  is necessary because project promoter want to increase the capacity of the local authority in Zagar commune to obtain funding for the implementation of measures in the field of education. After the elaboration of the technical documentation,  project promoter want to submit an application  to rehabilitate and equip the kindergarten in the locality where 88% of the children are Roma. The entire Roma community in the locality can  benefit from social services in the field of preschool education through the proposed investment. Currently, the number of Roma children enrolled in kindergarten is 24 out of a total of 27. They are part of 20 families with 80 Roma people.  According to the 2011 census, the Roma population in the locality represents 39% (470 people) out of the total number of 1186 people, but according to project promoter estimates, the Roma population represents 50.59% (approximately 600 people) out of the total number of 1186 of people living in commune. For the long term the entire Roma community of 600 people will benefit from this project.

Summary of project results

The project addressed the need to  rehabilitate the  kindergarten with extended program in Zagar locality, Mures commune. As a general impact of the project, the degree of marginalization will be reduced, especially among the Roma community.
Within the framework of this project,  technical documentation and specialty studies were developed in order to rehabilitate and equip the kindergarten in Zagar locality. The technical documentation was developed and  the necessary approvals for the first phase of the feasibility study were obtained. This will lead to increase  the chances for obtaining non-reimbursable funding from the programs at national level. The technical documentation will be further used by the project promoter as part of other financing application to be submitted in order to finance the investment works. On the long term, rehabilitate and equip the kindergarten will lead to reducing the marginalization and increase the education.
