Description

General objective:Implementation of measures to reduce the contamination with dangerous substances in the temporary municipal landfill. Specific objective:reduce the contamination with hazardous substances in the temporary municipal landfill in Cluj-Napoca, located on Platanilor F.N. landscaping on which the temporary ramp is located. 

The main activities are :A1 -Acquisition and development of project management consulting services;A2 -Ensuring exchanges of experience on successful environmental projects in Norway; Activity 3 -Acquisition and operationalization of the modular waste management system; A4 –Good practice Guide achievement; A5 -Implementation of information and publicity actions for the project. Within the project, municipal waste will be treated with specific, modern equipment, within an innovative and environmentally friendly technological solution: useful fractions will be separated and used for energy (organic matter), and as compost in agriculture. So, the project brings, in addition to the cost savings of relocation in the landfill, concrete environmental benefits, such as reduction of contamination with hazardous substances, introduction of treated waste in the circular economy, decommissioning temporary disposal of municipal waste, reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, reduction of soil and surface water pollution.

Direct results ("outputs"): Equipment purchased; Decrease the volume of waste deposited in the temporary ramp by implementing innovative and environmentally friendly solution. Indirect results ("outcomes"): Dissemination of good practices through the guide developed within the pilot project.

Target groups. The direct beneficiaries of the project are the residents of the immediate vicinity of the temporary municipal landfill. Indirect beneficiaries: The community of Cluj will indirectly benefit in a positive way (innovative and environmentally friendly solution), being protected  by contamination with dangerous substances.
