Description

The main objective of the project proposed by Dragomiresti Vale Commune is to reduce energy costs, increase the security of energy supply by covering their electricity need from green sources and reduce CO2 emissions. The Commune will use photovoltaic panels in order to assure the electricity for several buildings that are under the administration of the city hall (i.e., schools, kindergartens, city hall buildings) and for public lighting.
The commune has two schools (one in Dragomirești Vale village and one in Dragomirești Deal village), two kindergartens (one in Dragomirești Vale village and one in Dragomirești Deal village), and a town hall. The electricity consumption for these consumers was of 631 MWh in 2019. Apart from that, the commune has public lighting in each of the 3 villages of the commune. The total electricity consumption for public lighting was of 1.119 MWh in 2020 (the pandemic didn’t affect the consumption level for the public lighting). Electricity prices have constantly increased over the latest few years, and this has increased the burden on the local budget.
In order to estimate the expected electricity production and to dimension the PV power plant, the commune contacted a specialized consultant and identified a plot of land that can be used to build the photovoltaic power plant. The project intents to offset a part of the electricity consumption with electricity production in a photovoltaic power plant that will be connected to the grid. The production injected into the grid will be deducted from the consumption of the public consumers thus reducing the CO2 footprint of the commune and the burden on the local budget. Following the implementation of the project, the costs of purchasing electricity will be reduced. It will also help reduce CO2 emissions and increase security of energy supply. The electricity produced by the photovoltaic system will be around 1.233 MWh/year which will cover more than 50% of the consumption need.
