Description

The main objective of the project is implementation of a photovoltaic system in order to assure electricity from renewable resources for the production process, to reduce CO2 emissions and to achieve energy independence. A feasibility study was conducted, and the results concluded that by placing a photovoltaic system on the roof of the distribution hall within the production unit, the company would be able to reduce energy costs for the production process, increase security of energy supply and reduce CO2 emissions.

The technical solution proposes developing a 396 KW photovoltaic plant with direct energy injection into the company''s own network. The photovoltaic plant will be connected to the electricity grid, without active energy injection into the distribution operator''s grid, only for own consumption purposes. The production unit is functioning 24 hours/day, 7 days per week, therefore all the energy produced will be used for own consumption. The photovoltaic panels will be placed on roof of the distribution hall within the production unit. For the conversion of photovoltaic energy, 4 inverters with nominal power of 100 KW each will be used. The photovoltaic plant will produce 489 MWh/year for own consumption. Key activities include:

  • Delivery of equipment and installations of the PV system.
  • Internal project management.
  • Financial audit.
  • Publicity to ensure the visibility of the project.

The current project is representing an important step for the long-term development strategy for increasing company''s energy independence. Its implementation reduces energy consumption from conventional sources, energy cost economy and gives a partial energy autonomy.

Summary of project results

A feasibility study was conducted, and the results concluded were that by placing a photovoltaic system on the roof of the distribution hall within the production unit,  the Applicant will be able to reduce energy costs for the production process, increase security of energy supply and reduce CO2 emissions.

The project consists in implementation of a photovoltaic system of  396 KW in order to ensure electricity from renewable resources for the production process, to reduce CO2 emissions and to achieve energy independence.

The photovoltaic plant is does not inject electricity into the distribution operator''s grid and it is used only for own consumption. The production unit is functioning 24 hours/day, 7 days per week, therefore all the energy produced is used for own consumption. The photovoltaic panels are placed on roof of the distribution hall within the production unit. For the conversion of photovoltaic energy, 4 inverters with nominal power of 100 KW each are used. The photovoltaic plant will produce 489 MWh/year for own consumption.

Main activities conducted:

  • Delivery of equipment and installations of the PV system.
  • Internal project management.
  • Financial audit.
  • Publicity to ensure the visibility of the project.

The project implementation contributes to the production process and further development of the company by reducing the energy costs and creating partly energy independence, the company has reliable electricity supply. Also, it allows to company to have a control over the energy costs, optimizing the operational expenses.
