Description

The main objective of the project proposed by Tarnaveni Municipality is to reduce energy costs, increase the security of energy supply by covering their need from green sources and reduce CO2 emissions.

The technical solution proposed was installing photovoltaic system with an installed capacity of 0,189 MW, on the roof of Avram Iancu public market. From this location, a direct connection to the City Hall will be made through copper cables, in order to provide directly the produced green energy. The photovoltaic system could not be placed on the roof of the City Hall, due to lack of space. The photovoltaic system will produce a total green energy of 193 MWh/year for own consumption.

Following the implementation of the project, the costs of purchasing electricity for 24 public buildings (the public market, City Hall and 22 public buildings for which the energy will be compensated) will be reduced. It will also help reduce CO2 emissions and increase security of energy supply. Based on invoices for all 24 public locations, it revealed an annual electricity consumption of 376 MWh/year. The energy produced by green sources will cover 51% of the consumption need, the rest will be provided by the national network. Key activities include:

  • Technical design and assistance.
  • Project management.
  • Financial audit.
  • Publicity to ensure the visibility of the project.

The project has a positive impact on the future development of the community. Following the implementation of the project, the dependence towards the conventional sources of energy will be reduced, as well as energy costs, it increase the comfort level of public services and will be an example for the inhabitants as well to look for photovoltaic panels as an option towards conventional source of energy.

Summary of project results

Tarnaveni Municipality challenge was to reduce energy costs, increase the security of energy supply by covering their need from green sources and reduce CO2 emissions.

Promoter installed a photovoltaic system  of 0,189 MW capacity, on the roof of Avram Iancu public market. From this location, a direct connection to the City Hall was made through copper cables, in order to provide directly the produced green energy. The photovoltaic system could not be placed on the roof of the City Hall, due to lack of space.

The photovoltaic system will produce a total green energy of 193 MWh/year for own consumption of the Municipality.
