Description
The main objective of the project proposed by Prundu Bargaului Commune is to reduce energy costs, increase the security of energy supply by covering their need from green sources and reduce CO2 emissions. The technical solution proposed includes installing photovoltaic panels with a total installed capacity of 0.216 MW, on 9 public buildings located in Prundu Bargaului and Susenii Bargaului. The photovoltaic panels will produce a total of 210 MWh/year for own consumption.
For all location, the photovoltaic panels will be place on the roof of the buildings, which was carefully assessed in order to sustain the weight of the panels. The installed power for each location of photovoltaic system was chosen according to the available space with the best south orientation so that the systems have the highest possible efficiency. All locations will be connected to the grid. The Commune will not have any income from the operation. The real benefit will be the reduction of electricity consumption costs, because the photovoltaic system will produce energy only to compensate its own consumption.
Based on invoices for all 9 public locations, the feasibility study revealed an annual electricity consumption of 385 MWh/year. The energy produced by green sources will cover 55% of the consumption need, the rest will be provided by the national network. Key activities include:
- Technical design and assistance.
- Investment activities.
- Financial audit.
- Project management.
- Publicity to ensure the visibility of the project.
The project has a positive impact on the future development of the community. Following the implementation of the project, the dependence towards the conventional sources of energy will be reduced, as well as energy costs, it increase the comfort level of public services and will be an example for the inhabitants as well to look for photovoltaic panels as an option towards conventional source of energy.
Summary of project results
Prundu Bargaului Commune aimed to reduce energy costs, increase the security of energy supply by covering their need from green sources and reduce CO2 emissions. The Commune uses photovoltaic panels in order to ensure the electricity for 9 public buildings (which currently are supply with electricity from national network).
Prundu Bargaului Commune reached the installation of 9 units of photovoltaic panels with a total capacity of 216 kW to increase security of energy supply and reduce CO2 emissions.
The investment project consisted in:
- Installing photovoltaic panels on 9 public buildings of the Commune;
- Works to change the connection for each building in order to inject the surplus in the network, in accordance to the legislation.
The main results of the project is reduced energy costs in 9 public locations of the Commune, increase security of energy supply, increase energy production from renewable energy sources and promoting the use of renewable energy production using photovoltaic panels.
