Description

The main objective of the project is to reduce Metaplast energy costs and green its production processes by installing a photovoltaic integrated system with an installed capacity of 999 kWp which incorporates a clean energy power production of maximum 1.260 MWh per year, to be used for own consumption. The selected technical solution and its innovativeness will support the company to achieve an estimated 386 tonnes of CO2 annual reduction.

With the implementation of this project, Metaplast aims to reduce the dependency of the grid and provide green local power backup for its critical installations. The photovoltaic panels will be built on the sloping roof of the company''s production hall, located in Titu, Dambovita County, with fixing in the roofing sheet and mounting parallel to the roof covering. The photovoltaic power plant will be connected to the grid by the invertors, which is accompanied by a meter that measures the produced energy versus the energy that is taken-in from the grid. Key activities include:

  • Investment related to the PV system.
  • Publicity to ensure the visibility of the project.
  • Financial audit.

The investment targeted by this project has a positive impact on the company. Its implementation reduces energy consumption from conventional sources, generates energy cost savings and gives a partial energy autonomy. Furthermore, through the reduction of CO2 emissions generated by the production process, the company will green its activity with positive impact on the environment.

Summary of project results

Through this project, Metaplast, a large private company, aimed to reduce it energy costs by installing a photovoltaic plant.

Following the implementation of the project, Metaplast installed a photovoltaic plant having a capacity of 999 kWp which incorporates a clean energy power production of maximum 1.260 MWh per year, to be used for own consumption.
