Description
The aim of Cemacon SA project is to install a photovoltaic plant at the ceramic block factory, located in Recea, to reduce the energy costs, CO2 emissions and increase security of energy supply by reducing its dependence of conventional energy. The new photovoltaic plant will have a capacity of 1000 kilowatt. The plant will be connected to the electricity grid, without active energy injection into the distribution operator’s grid, only for own consumption purposes.
Cemacon SA is consistently trying to become more energy efficient and less dependent on fossil fuels and conventional electricity, by respecting the approach to climate change and renewable energy objectives proposed by the European Union and the European Economic Area. The project will also contribute to increasing the competitiveness of the company by becoming green and by reducing its long-term costs, while also ensuring strong positive direct and indirect effects on the environment. Key activities include:
- Project design and technical assistance from external specialized consultant.
- Project investment which includes site organization, design, delivery, and installation of the photovoltaic system.
- Training provided by the supplier of equipment.
- Internal project management.
- Project publicity to ensure visibility of the project.
Expected outcomes of the project include a reduction in annual CO2 emissions by 299 tonnes of CO2 eq./year and a production of energy from other renewable sources of 976 megawatt-hour/year. The project will also require 5 staff members to be trained for ensuring optimal operation.
