Description

The main objective of the project consists in development of a photovoltaic system in order to assure electricity from renewable resources for St. Elizabeth Nursing Home and to reduce its CO2 emissions.

The nursing home aims to reduce its dependence of conventional energy as well as to optimize its expenses connected with the needed energy for St. Elizabeth Nursing Home by development of a photovoltaic system with a capacity of 232 kW. The photovoltaic panels will be place on the roof of the building, which was carefully assessed in order to sustain the weight of the panels. The photovoltaic plant will be connected to the electricity grid, without active energy injection into the distribution operator''s grid, only for own consumption purposes. Key activities of the project include:

  • Investment related to the system.
  • Project management by internal team.
  • Financial audit by external consultant.
  • Publicity to ensure the visibility of the project.

Expected outcomes includes an estimated annual CO2 emission reduction by 94 tonnes of CO2 and energy produced from other renewable sources of around 200 MWh/year. In relation to the project, 10 employees will receive necessary training.

Summary of project results

The nursing home aims to reduce its dependence of conventional energy as well as to optimize its expenses connected with the needed energy for St. Elizabeth Nursing Home by development of a photovoltaic system with a capacity of 232 kW. The photovoltaic panels placed on the roof of the building, which was carefully assessed in order to sustain the weight of the panels. The photovoltaic plant will be connected to the electricity grid, without active energy injection into the distribution operator''s grid, only for own consumption purposes.

  1. Expected outcomes:
    1. Estimated annual CO2 emission reductions: 94 tonns of CO2 eq./year.
    2. Energy produced from other renewable sources in MWh/Year: 200 MWh/year.

The achievement of these indicators is tracked through the Fusion Solar app, made available to us by the system manufacturer. Annual data is not yet available, but starting from October 2023, 17,70MWh and 8,41 CO2 eq, we can say that the system will produce at least 200 MWh of electricity per year and will contribute to reducing CO2 emissions by 94 tonns of CO2 eq./year.

Through the implementation of the project the proposed outputs were achieved:

  1. Installed capacity for production of electricity from photovoltaic panels: 0.232 MW.
  2. Number of new installations for production of renewable energy: 1.
  3. Number of staff trained in the project: 10.

The main objective of the project consists in development of a photovoltaic system in order to assure electricity from renewable resources for St. Elizabeth Nursing Home and to reduce its CO2 emissions.
