Description

The main objective of the project is to replace the light points with high electricity consumption using the technology of sodium vapor lamps with a lighting system by using LED sources. The technical solution includes replacing 1.376 light points with a LED lighting system. It will be implemented in 16 streets in Cluj-Napoca. The technical solution for the LED lamps will depend on the photometric level required by the street category. Key activities include:

  • Investments in the new system.
  • Detailed design of the system.
  • Financial audit performed by an external auditor.

Expected outcomes of the project include a reduction in energy consumption by 532 MWh/year and a reduction in CO2 emissions by 452 tonnes/year.

The project is completed and contributes to the following outcome(s) and output(s): Expected outcomes: - Reduction of energy consumption by 532 MWh/year; - CO2 equivalent emission reduction per year: 452 tons CO2 equivalent / year; - Annual monetary saving from energy efficiency measures: 57882 EUR; - Cost of CO2/ton shall be of maximum EUR/ton of CO2 = 1,432 EUR / per year; - Cost of expected reduction of CO2 after project implementation = 72 EUR/ton CO2 reduced (for the lifetime of investment - 20 years). Expected outputs: - Number of energy efficiency measures for the lightening network infrastructure at least 1. The total electric street lighting network included in the project is 1376 light points from 16 streets in Cluj Napoca Municipality.
