Description

Don Orione Befeficence Charity Society is a non-governmental organization established in 1992 to support children and youth from Oradea and surroundings to develop their full potential and to offer them a civic, social, Christian-moral education through cultural, sport, environment friendly, artistic and free-time activities.

The general objective of the project is to increase the energy efficiency by using solar energy, to reduce the quantity of pollutants emissions and to have a constant energy in a safe and clean environment. The project proposal aims to streamline electricity consumption by using renewable energy sources with an integrated production system energy based photovoltaic conversion. Don Orione Befeficence Charity Society intends to use high-performance solar panels in order to reduce carbon intensive energy and to increase the security of supply. The investment will be done in two different locations, in Oradea city on Don Orione high-school and in Zece Hotare village. The aim is to transform the high-school into a green school.

The technical solution includes two photovoltaic installations for 27-kW each, which will produce green electricity for own consumption and reduce the CO2 emissions. Key activities include:

  • Project management.
  • Investments.
  • Publicity to promote the project.

Expected outcomes of the project include an estimated annual production of 66,48 MWh/year from renewable sources and an annual CO2 emission decrease of 20,34 tonnes.
The project is also a statement that proves the belief of the organization that the community needs a strong model of sustainability, including greater incentives to save the energy, reduce consumption and protect the environment while also increasing levels of citizen well-being.

Summary of project results

Two photovoltaic power plants of 27kWp each, one in Oradea City and one in Zece Hotare village.
