Summary of project results
According to the analysis of the local, regional and international labor market, the dynamic of recent years highlights theoretical and practical aspects that can be improved in order to facilitate the process of entering the labor market. The future employees need specialized knowledge and practical experience, which they can put into practice using Information and Communications Technology as well. This project aimed to develop new partnerships between the school and the economic operators operating on the labor market, between us and those who will take care of our graduates beyond the school gate, in order to train the necessary skills as specialists in the field of Tourism and Food Service, acquired in school.
The study visit within the project brought together the educational partners and economic operators from Romania and Bulgaria and aimed to develop students’ skills, mainly those acquired during internships, which graduates need when they get hired. As a result of the exchange experience it was found that the future graduates must have the ability to carry out the tasks they are assigned to according to the job description, to be ready for the challenges of their profession, to work in a team but also independently, to know very well the specific terms and to communicate in a professional and polite manner, to understand the tasks to be performed during the technological process of manufacturing and to be responsible for the role he/she plays within that economic entity. The teaching staff, as well as the representatives of our partner economic operator benefited from the exchange because we collaborated in order to write the intended materials (Local Development Curricula, a Practice journal and a Glossary) in which we adapted the labor market requirements in the field of Tourism and Food Service to both the oficial curricula and the students’ training level in order to accomplish our project’s objectives. The school partners in the fields in which the high school is accredited and authorized to educate students, were interested in collaborating with us, because they are partners in projects already implemented by school and they make suggestions regarding the number of places that should be available in vocational education, levels 3 and 4. The study visit at the Vocational School of Tourism in Momchilgrad achieved its objectives through the activities that took place within the project and through the developed written materials so that:- the students see the internship as the place where they can put into practice all the theoretical concepts learned at school, as a facilitator when it comes to entering the labour market, learning from professionals in the field or familiarizing themselves with the culture of the organization and with what is specific to the professional field;- the students improve and develop skills that are specific to their field of activity, through these internships;- the internships are designed so that students can easily find a job in their field;-the graduates quickly adapt to the workplace, to its rules and the organizational culture, to the work environment.
