Description

The needs identified at the level of our institution in the institutional plan for professional development of the Hunedoara CJRAE are the difficulties in building a relationship between counsellor and learners, due to lack of direct contact; difficulties to reach students from disadvantaged backgrounds; low digital competences for the use of interactive educational platforms; consumption of time management for creating innovative digital materials to be used in the activities with students, parents, and teachers. Concerning these needs at the level of the organization we find several areas for improvement: diversification of educational interventions/programs, inclusion and retention in the educational system of all students regardless of their psycho-individual and social characteristics, reducing risk behaviors, creating conditions for students to integrate school activities in their daily life, improving social and professional skills of the staff by participating in training courses/programs, developing non-formal educational strategies, developing partnerships through European projects. Our organization preregistred for the structured course: Reaching, teaching and keeping our learners: Methods and approaches to reach and increase retention of disadvantaged learners. Our project''s objectives are:
- improving with two psycho-pedagogical methods/techniques on preventing school failure for at least 60% of school counsellors from CJRAE Hunedoara, until the completion of the project
- developing new strategies used in non-formal education for at least 60% of school counsellors from CJRAE Hunedoara until the completion of the project
-will organize two workshops for teachers, and also an inter-county symposium addressed to teachers in pre-university education, which would provide an opportunity for presenting studies and to exchange examples of good practices for preventing early school leaving amongst students at risk.

Summary of project results

  • The project addressed the priorities and objectives of the Program, the field of school education and responded to the needs of the institution for the development of staff skills to prevent early school leaving.
  • The report includes many evaluative data, collected along the way, after each activity carried out, which ensures its consistency.
  • Although the initially selected course was replaced at the proposal of the training provider, the change did not affect the implementation and results of the project. Achievement of expected and quality learning outcomes is demonstrated.
  • The report clearly presents the activities carried out, and they correspond to a very large extent to the initial planning. Arguments are presented to demonstrate the achievement of the proposed objectives.
  • Mobility was well organized (travel, accomodation, insurance, preparation of participants, minitoring and recognition)
  • All 6 participants received the Europass mobility certificate and certificates of participation, benefiting from the equivalence of professional credits. Equivalation of credits is also described for the symposium organized in the project.
  • The local activities were carried out according to the plan, with the addition of the number of workshops for teaching staff from 2 to 3, in order to involve a number of participants as close as possible to the estimated number.
  • From an institutional perspective, the report indicates the impact of the project on the staff and on the organizational culture.
  • A strong point is the presentation of the elements of impact on the teaching staff participating in the local activities and on the students, extracted through the internal monitoring and evaluation process.
  • The methodological guide and volume of the symposium contribute to the popularization of information in the subject matter addressed by the project and to the exchange of ideas and experiences. The two products are easily accessible on the institution''s website, thus having extended addressability at the national level.
