Description
One of the Strategic Objectives of the new government program on education is "Well-being - the holistic development of the mind-body-soul triangle, with the help of counselling and support measures.", which implies a better understanding of the importance of a democratic school culture leading to more inclusion, more support for different educational needs of students.
The main aim of the project is developing the capacity of CJRAE DB to support schools around the county in building more inclusive and democratic cultures
Objectives
1.Increasing the competences of 8 experts of CJRAE DB of using tools and methods promoting inclusion and democracy in schools
2. improving the institutional capacity of CJRAE to support at least 6 rural schools in developing inclusive and democratic culture
3. Increasing the ability of 8 experts of CJRAE DB to organise learning events that promotes inclusiveness and democracy
8 experts from CJRAE will attent 2 courses in Norway and Iceland , in order to develop their proffesional competencies and capacity to build more inclusive and democratic cultures in schools around Dambovita County .
The first course, Building Democratic School Cultures, is provided by The European Wegerland Centre, Norway, a resource centre on education for intercultural understanding, human rights and democratic citizenship, located in Oslo, Norway.
The other course, Special Needs and Inclusive Education: a practical course on recognizing and building students’ individual strengths and setting motivating goals through creative projects is offered by Smart Teachers Play More, an organisation from Iceland that offer courses for teachers from Europe, focuse on learning, developing confidence and creativity through play, movement and the senses.
On long term, the project will contribute to increased quality of education in schools around the county, through better learning environments, based on inclusion and democracy.
Summary of project results
The project responded to the priorities and objectives of the Program and the school education, as well as to the needs of the implementing organization, addressing a relevant topic: democratic and inclusive school governance
- The mobilities were carried out as planned, and the learning outcomes corresponded to expectations and were very well appreciated. Their organization was very good, both from an administrative point of view, as well as activities and content.
- The participants benefited from adequate training for each mobility.
Local activities were implemented in accordance with the funding proposal, with some adjustments that did not affect the achievement of the proposed objectives
- From the institutional perspective, the project contributed to increasing capacity to provide support to schools by diversifying the portfolio of methods, tools, practices, to improving management, better institutional visibility and to developing the capacity to write and implement projects.
