Description

The project “Euro tourism, Resources for VET School” has taken shape from the need for a better educational quality for VET students. The project objectives are:

1.Improved quality in professional education in VET 11th-graders majoring in Tourism and Catering, specializing as Confectioner/baker and Waiter.

2.Promoting multilingualism and professional development of teachers through their participation in English language courses and a study visit in Portugal/ Montijo.

3.Improving cooperation between school and the job market.

4.Promoting the modernization of educational systems and professional training.

During the study visit to Montijo, Portugal, 11 people will take part in the mobility, among which two are representatives of the partner company, (Andrei Sweet Shop), the legal school representative, 7 Economic field teachers, and an English language teacher as translator..

Results: - intangible (skills, abilities, professional and English language communicative competences acquired by the project participating teachers), - tangible (signed contracts between the foreign partner and the partner economic agent, a local-decision curriculum and a practice workbook for each of the specializations in Confectioner/Baker and Waiter, 11th grade, VET school, an ECVET practice convention, the project website/platform).

On the medium and long-run, the project will lead to:-Improving the work methods for the teachers, in relation with the students and economic agents for the condensed practice stages,

but also the adaptation of online working methods, in the new conjuncture generated by Covid 19

-Diminishing school dropout, through a concretization of more attractive classes and a change in the perception of professional training during stages, by the partner economic agent,

- A raise in school attractiveness in general and VET school, especially.

 

Summary of project results

The results of the project are the following:
• 9 teachers of the promoting school participated in the mobility;
• 2 representatives of the economic agent participated in the mobility;
• A total of 11 people participated in the study visit.
• There are 20 Roma students in the school out of a total of 1170 students.
•    They were achieved
o 3 CDL for Confectioner and Waiter qualifications,
o 2 Practice notebooks for students;
o a partnership contract concluded with the economic agent, Cofetaria Andrei
• 316 students (39%), out of the total number of 801 students in VET classes, declared that they obtained better learning results during the internships than in previous years.
