Description

The project assures the opportunities for running of mobilities for students and teaching staff in the frame of partnership between TUIASI and NMBU (Technical University “Gheorghe Asachi” of Iasi, Romania, and Norwegian University of Life Sciences, Norway). The mobilities will facilitate a better understanding of the priorities from Romania and Norway that can be funded through national and international programs. Preparation and development of new project proposals will increase the capacity, network and exchange of best practices between TUIASI and NMBU as well other various entities from Norway.
The project will enhance cooperation between interdisciplinary fields and organisations, as regarding cooperation between the education systems in TUIASI and the university from Norway. The main objective of the project is to increase the number of the incoming and outgoing mobility for both students and staff, which lead to the development of collaboration between the partner’s institutions. It is expected that this project will facilitate the preparation of human resources (in terms of both number and quality) that is able to perform well in research institutions and to address the current needs in both partners’ countries through the available tools (e.g. research projects, etc.).
Also, organisation of multiplier events for the wide implementation of the cooperation at all levels, for both teaching staff and students. Students and teaching staff from both TUIASI and NMBU are expected to benefit from this project. The enhancement of collaboration at both institutional and individual levels will increase the transfer of knowledge and good practices with wider effects in the socio-economic area. The Programme is implemented in close cooperation with Research Council of Norway, as a Donor Programme Partner:

Summary of project results

At the university level this project is a continuation of the previous project implemented at the university level within the EEA grants and because in the last years there were encountered some difficulties in sending students to the partner universities. Nowadays students can travel to Europe on their own, this being the main reason why the number of outgoing students decreased. In this respect, by applying to this project the university gave to students the opportunity to perform a mobility to a partner university in Norway and the mobility offer is wider. Learning mobility, that is transnational mobility for the purpose of acquiring new skills, is one of the fundamental ways through which individuals, particularly students, can strengthen their future emploability as well as their personal development.
In this project was implemented only the mobility for students and academic staff: student mobility for study and placement and academic mobility for teaching and training. During this project a total number of 13 mobilities were performed with just one partner university from Norway: Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU).

Summary of bilateral results

The university has signed the agreement with the partner university from Norway since 2014, but because the financing was very poor within the Erasmus+ or other programs the students could not afford to perform a mobility. In this respect starting with the EEA grants students can apply for mobility and benefit from this experience. It is very important to have a donor project partner because the value of the grants is higher compared to other European programs and this way the beneficiaries are more attracted to apply.Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the project has been very affected and the number of mobility was very low, a total number of 3 mobilities were conducted, out of which 1 mobility are from Norway to Romania (1 student for placement mobility) and 2 mobilities are from Romania to Norway (2 academic staff). The project with Norwegian University of Life Sciences (NMBU) is continued, in this respect in the period 01.06.2020-30.09.2022 the project 19-MPO-0040 is running.
