EXPLORING PLUREALITIES project stands out in the national landscape with an innovative multidimensional approach and alternative transdisciplinary activities in the field of contemporary arts and performance. It aims towards audience development and support for contemporary art’s creators in partnership with Norwegian artist Mette Edvardsen and in cooperation with Romanian and international artists and professionals. Creating a favorable framework for the reinforcement of contemporary art through opportunities for professional development-participatory creation process, job shadowing and mentoring, the project proposes a progressive approach, based on analysis and prospecting of innovative directions, by identifying and supporting hybrid artistic formats. The support of multidisciplinary artistic production and intercultural collaboration acts as a catalyst for 20 new creations and a bilateral partnership within the 24 months of the project. 4 creative laboratories, gathering over 15 local artists and 4 mentors/mentorship teams will generate new creations dedicated to both offline and online space. Furthermore Mette Edvardsen will coordinate the production of a local performing art piece adaptation. These activities aim to explore the artistic potential in addressing issues relevant to contemporary society, to encourage the exchange of ideas and interdisciplinary experience, national and international mobility, intergenerational dialogue. Aiming towards audience development for contemporary art,2 public platforms of presentation will be created in offline and online space. 33 projects’ presentations will address an audience of 2.000 spectators within 18 months. In order to gather the attention of the general audience for the multidisciplinary cultural product, the project invites the public to join in the real space of the WASP Bucharest for 2 artistic symposium, as well as in the online platform by webinars, digital creations, interviews.
Summary of project results
The project adopted a progressive approach, grounded in analysis and the exploration of innovative directions, by identifying and supporting hybrid artistic formats. Multidisciplinary artistic production and intercultural collaboration served as catalysts for generating new creations tailored for both offline and online spaces.
The project organized two artistic symposiums, complemented by online activities such as webinars, digital creations, and interviews. Both the symposiums and the online platform were dedicated to promoting hybrid artistic creations, emerging from multidisciplinary processes and intercultural collaboration.
The project led to the development of 20 new artistic creations, including four creative laboratories, bringing together over 15 local artists and four mentors. Additionally, two public presentation platforms were established in both offline and online spaces. Through these platforms, 33 contemporary art presentations were delivered to an audience of 4,013 spectators across both formats.
Summary of bilateral results
As part of the bilateral cooperation, Mette Edvardsen coordinated the adaptation of a local performing arts piece, actively participated in the symposiums, and facilitated non-formal professional training sessions for the project team. These activities strengthened artistic exchange, fostering knowledge-sharing and professional development within the creative community.
