Description

The In-Herit project is planning to endow and develop a National Information and Promotion Centre for Cultural Heritage, by cooperating with 4 partners from Romania and Norway, pooling together the existing expertise on audience development for cultural heritage. This is a unique initiative, and currently there is no structure in place capable of informing and educating a nation-wide public, about the protection, promotion and enhancement of cultural heritage. The centre will pursue its activities in a historical monument building, the Merchant House in Șerban Vodă Street no. 33, a symbolic building of the Bucharest cultural heritage, that will become a space opened for the public. The main objective is to improve the access for the general public to information and education services from the field of culture, by creating a national centre for the information and promotion of the cultural heritage, within the National Institute of Heritage. The specific objectives are: - The development of a permanent structure in the National Institute of Heritage to offer information and education service for the general public in Romania about cultural heritage; - The promotion of novel ways to enhance the cultural heritage through contemporary artistic expression. The project will contribute to the improvement of access to culture (an outcome), by creating 4 jobs, by developing competence for 6 culture professionals, by counting a 1000 participants in cultural activities, and by developing 4 novel scenarios in the education for heritage field, and four contemporary art activities, by launching online tools for general audience access to relevant information on heritage. Also, the project will contribute to the consolidation of collaboration between institutions from Romania and the donor States, through the signed partnership agreement.

The project aimed to address the need for job creation and skill development in the field of cultural heritage. It also sought to increase public engagement with contemporary art and strengthen collaboration between institutions working in heritage preservation. Additionally, there was a need for improved tools and resources to support heritage conservation efforts.

The project led to the creation of more than 12 jobs and provided professional development opportunities for 5 employees specializing in cultural heritage. It supported 16 contemporary art activities, engaging over 1,065 participants.

A key output was the development of the SalvaMonument application, designed to aid in heritage conservation. Additionally, the project established the In-Herit Information Center, which facilitated cooperation between the National Heritage Institute and various public institutions and specialized NGOs.

The project contributed to strengthening the cultural heritage sector by creating employment opportunities and enhancing the skills of professionals in the field. The 16 contemporary art activities enriched public engagement, fostering a greater appreciation for cultural heritage among over 1,065 participants.

These initiatives supported the sustainability of heritage preservation efforts and improved access to cultural resources for both professionals and the general public.
