Description

When ContempArt helps Social! is a cultural and social project organized by Semper Musica Association Romania in partnership with ZEBEL DESIGN FISHBAIN, a cultural Norwegian company, which will mobilize 15 contemporary art artists from Romania and Norway in designing 15 contemporary art creations which will be promoted through 15 contemporary art public events organized in both countries, an occasion for 3000 Romanians and Norwegians to understand important social aspects related to THE LIFE WITH HIV IN ROMANIA! And THE LIFE WITH HIV IN NORWAY! Therefore, the project puts together the Romanian and Norwegian contemporary art with one of the most discriminated social groups, at least in Romania, and wishes that through art to increase the level of social inclusion in their own communities from Romania and Norway of the people living with HIV. Also, the project wishes to increase the access to culture for the citizens of both countries, this being achieved through the 15 contemporary art public events organized in Romania and Norway, but also through the cultural entrepreneurship and cultural communicator courses the five employees in the project, Romanians and Norwegians, will follow.

Summary of project results

The project aimed to address the limited visibility and accessibility of contemporary art, as well as the need for more opportunities for artists to engage with social themes. It also sought to bridge artistic communities in Romania and Norway, fostering cross-cultural collaboration. Additionally, the project responded to the challenge of connecting contemporary artists with employment opportunities in the social sector.

A call for artists was launched in both Romania and Norway, leading to the selection of artists who created 15 contemporary art pieces. These works were promoted through an online launch event and made accessible to the public via a virtual gallery.

Interviews were conducted with participating artists from Romania and Norway, highlighting their experiences and perspectives on the project and their artistic creations. Additionally, an online platform was developed to provide information about employment opportunities for contemporary artists in the social field.

The project increased the visibility and accessibility of contemporary art by making 15 new art creations available through a virtual gallery. The online launch event helped promote these works to a broader audience.

Summary of bilateral results

The project partner was involved in conducting the call for artists from Norway. The partner carried out the selection of the 5 Norwegian artists and arranged for the transport of the contemporary art creations to Romania. The partner interviewed the Norwegian artists but also a number of Norwegian citizens in order to asses the artistic creations impact. The Norwegian partner attended the online progress and outcome briefing events. For the online platform developed within the project, the partner collected information about the 5 Norwegian artists.
