Description
The Roma communities from Campia Turzii included in the project are placed at the periphery of society both in terms of geographical location and societal behaviors and face a strong wave of propagation of racism from the members of the communities around them.
The project will address the causes of social exclusion and injustice in Campia Turzii by mobilizing young Roma to participate in assessing their needs, propose solutions, communicate with local authorities, and actively participate in implementing solutions. The Roma community will be involved in a broad process of integrated community development, focused on increasing the socio-economic status of young Roma in 4 marginalized communities from Campia Turzii. In addition, a local inclusion plan will be developed, undertaken by the Administrative Territorial Units ATUs in collaboration with local decentralized institutions (According to the provisions of Law 195/2006, the Romanian Government approves cost standards and quality for the services provided by the Local Public Authorities).
The project will help the young Roma from Campia Turzii to know and claim their rights from the authorities, will empower them to actively participate in the community life and decision-making processes and will increase the capacity of the community to access the available services and to advocate for new ones according to their needs.
On the long term, the project will help eradicate the causes of exclusion from compact Roma communities by mobilizing young people to participate in needs assessment and finding solutions, by communicating with local authorities and getting involved in implementing these solutions, to act for service development and to claim structured, correctly and concretely the rights and benefits of the communities.
