Description

The project aims at integrated capacity building for civic engagement in rural communities where the majority of the population is Roma. However, before supporting the involvement of Roma communities at the local level and increasing civic awareness, it is necessary to address issues of: self-confidence, civic education and the provision of civic skills, the creation of coherent structures to support Roma communities in this endeavour, the involvement of Roma communities in decision-making and supporting them to become active citizens.
The project is aimed at rural communities where the Roma community has a significant share, and its problems influence the overall development of the communities.
Through the activities of the project we want to provide Roma citizens with the skills and competences to become active citizens in their communities and to be able to engage with local public authorities in solving the problems they face.
The beneficiaries of the project are primarily Roma citizens in rural areas of Timis county, but the project can be extrapolated and implemented nationwide in the future.
The partners have experience in carrying out activities and projects that promote civic involvement in local communities, especially in rural areas, so their contribution is significant in terms of project implementation.
